About me

The Basics

My name is Kelsey and I am currently a student at Temple University in Philadelphia. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, I believe myself to be a true, peace loving hippie at heart, yet with a little inner city swag to keep things interesting. As a double major in International Business and German Language, I have a passion for travel, business, intercultural communication, and many other activities in and outside the classroom.

I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to over twenty countries in my short 22 years on this earth. It would not have been possible without the support of my parents and step parents, as well as numerous teachers, professors, and friends who have fueled this incredible addiction. It all began when I was 16 years old and participated in the German American Partnership Program. For the first time, I was a traveler, not a tourist. A love for Europe and German was sparked deep inside me, and this is a love I have never been able to shake. It has been the catalyst for my other trips that have taken me as far south as Queenstown, New Zealand, and as far north as Lulea, Sweden, and it will continue to lead me to places I never thought imaginable.

My Travels

What's Next?

With an anticipated graduation date of January 2014, most of my large travel plans/dreams must be put on hold while I finish up my two degrees. Nevertheless, my next big adventure is just around the corner. I have hopes of pursuing goals I have had since traveling to Germany for the first time in 2007: moving to Europe and pursuing German fluency. There are also a numerous corners of the world I have not yet ventured to, such as Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America. In this final year of my studies, I am in the works of making these dreams a possibility. Although the road will be long, the thrill of the adventure never dulls, and I am looking forward to the incredible opportunities ahead of me in what ever corner of the world they may take me!

My Passion for Travel

Enjoy my stories?

Some call it destiny, others call it coincidence, I like to call it fate. My passion for travel has propelled me in directions I never would have known without it. It is the basis of many of my friendships, the inspiration for my career goals and it has completely altered my outlook on life. G.K. Chesterton once said, "The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land;  it is at last to set food on one's own country as a foreign land." Since 16, I made a promise: to not let the rest of the world, outside my own US borders, go unnoticed, and to become a true citizen of the world. Since then, I travel not to escape life, but to ensure that life will not escape me.
